Highest polling of 94.80 %aprox  reported from Nalagargh :Chouhan

Narinder Chauhan, Chief Electoral Officer said on phone  that the poll in 68 Assembly Constituencies of the State for Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Election-2012 had concluded peacefully as per the information received at 5.00 p.m. on Sunday.. The poll percentage worked out to be approximately 75 %. 
Great enthusiasm was noticed in the remote and tribal areas of the State. The polling percentage was high, it was approximately 81.48 % in Sirmour District. The highest percentage of polling, 94.80 % was reported from Nalagarh Assembly Constituency. The lowest polling percentage of 58.77 % was reported from Shimla Urban Assembly Constituency. 

According to the information reached at State Headquarters Total approx. % age of voter turnout in Chamba District = 75.25 %, Kangra District = 72.68 % approx, Lahaul & Spiti District = 68 % approx, Kullu District = 78.74 approx %, Mandi District = 76.95 % approx, Hamirpur District = 70.33 approx %, Una District = 75.06 % approx, Bilaspur District = 73 % approx, Solan District = 80.34 % approx, Sirmour District = 81.48 % approx, Shimla District = 69.85 % approx and Kinnaur District = 74.28 % approx
Chauhan said that all 7253 polling parties along-with polled Electoral Voting Machines (EVMs) were expected to reach their respective collection centers under tight security. The necessary arrangements have been made to keep polled EVMs in safe custody under tight security in the Strong Room till counting of the votes on 20th December,2012. He said that counting of votes would start on 20th December, 2012 at 8.00 a.m. under the supervision of Election Observers appointed by Election Commission of India.
