Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee birth anniversary celebrated

Kulbir Kalsi: Bharatiya Janata Party District 4 Chandigarh today celebrated Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee under the chairmanship of District President Shakti Prakash Devshali. 
          On this occasion District Vice President Rajeev Kumar Pandey, Mukesh Sharma, Rajinder Sharma, Amar Passi, Anoop Rana, Yuva Morcha General Secretary Jagtar Singh Jagga, Mandal President Mukesh Rai, Surjeet Kumar, Ramashish, Manoj Kumar Singh were present among others.
          While addressing party activists District President Shakti Prakash Devshali said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was a talented person and he became Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University at the age of 33 years.  In the interim Central Government he was inducted as Minister for Industry and Supply.  He started industrial revolution in the country.
          Dr. Mookerjee opposed ‘two constitutions, two prime minister and two National Emblems’ in the country.  He started an agitation against the ‘Permit System’ for entry into Kashmir.  He entered Kashmir without permit on 11th May 1953 and was arrested by the state government.  He died in Kashmir under suspicious conditions.  Dr. Mookerjee’s martyrdom ended the ‘Permit System’ for entry into Kashmir.
