Badminton and Drawing competition held at Snehalaya,Chandigarh

Chandigarh, April 30, 2011: A badminton and Drawing competition was held at Snehalaya in which more than a hundred children of various age groups participated. The occasion was graced by Director Social Welfare cum Managing Director, Chandigarh Child and Women Development Corporation Ms. Varsha Khangwal and Mrs. Neena Singh of Bharat Prakash foundation.

In a ceremony oozing out with enthusiasm ten matches of badminton doubles were organized in which children from age group of 12 yrs -18 yrs participated & exhibited their excellent sports skills. At the same time children under the age of 12 years also projected their skills with colors in the drawing and painting. In the drawing competition Kanwaljeet and Veena in girl’s category & Master Shivam & Nandlal in the boy’s category bagged the first & second positions respectively. All the winners of the contests were congratulated & awarded with prizes by Director Social Welfare, for the excellence these children exhibited. Speaking on the occasion Director Social Welfare stated that a talent hunt drive will be initiated very soon to discover the innate potential of these children & efforts will be made to optimize it. At the same time Director Social Welfare also personally interacted with the children and asked them to keep up the skill and potential they have within them.
