Each village of Kinnaur district to have road facility: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing public meeting at Ribba in tribal Kinnaur district today announced starting of science classes in Government Senior Secondary School Ribba, opening of new Patwar Circle at Ribba and car parking near Bus Stop Ribba. He also directed for early construction of road from Ribba to Ribba-Kanda for which sanction would be accorded soon and early construction of irrigation canal Kayalkas in Ribba Panchayat. 

He said there was a vast network of roads in Kinnaur district and the left out villages were being connected and soon every village of the district would have road facility. He appreciated that sewerage connectivity was being provided to many villages in the district which reflects the awareness of the people towards cleanliness. 

He appreciated the efforts of the people of Kinnaur district for adopting horticulture and cultivation of off season vegetables on large scale and said that it was due to the seamless efforts of the people of the district that they were most prosperous and well-off as of today. 

Shri Virbhadra Singh said today Himachal  was the most developed   state amongst other hill states of the country and it had been possible due to the hard work of the people adding that the per capita income of the State as of today was Rs. 1,30,067 as compared to Rs. 240 in 1948.

Earlier, he inaugurated Kashang-Akappa Canal (FIS) at Rarang completed with an outlay of Rs. 12.44 crore benefitting five surrounding villages. He also laid foundation stone of rupees three crore sewerage scheme at Ribba to benefit about 3500 people, Rs. 22 lakh Sarai Bhawan at Gramang and Rs. 1.30 crore sewerage system at Rarang to benefit as many as 1100 people of the area.  

Deputy Speaker Vidhan Sabha Shri Jagat Singh Negi welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister and placed the demands of the area.

Pradhan, Ribba Gram Panchayat Shri Prem Prakash demanded restoration of Nautod and starting of science classes in GSSS Ribba. 

Later, the Chief Minister also addressed public meetings at Gramang in Moorang Gram Panchayat and Rarang.

In Moorang, the Chief Minister announced construction of Timchhe Canal at Moorang, sewerage scheme for Moorang, adequate funds for renovation of Pandav Temple and upgradation of Police post, Moorang to Police Station.

 He also participated in Pratishtha ceremony of Pathoro  Devta temple at Rarang. He assured for adequate funds for conservation of Kashang Canal which would felicitate the people of Rarang area and congratulated the IPH department for achieving the feat. He said that it would help raising the economy of the people of the area. 

While addressing public meeting at Kalpa on Friday evening, he announced upgradation of Veterinary dispensary to Veterinary Hospital at Kalpa.

Negi, DCC President Kinnaur, Shri Umesh Negi, Tribal Advisory Committee, Members, Advocate Shri Ram Singh and Shri Naresh Negi, District Youth Congress President, Shri Pratap Negi, Chairman, Kinnaur Federation (KINFED), Shri Chander Gopal Negi, Deputy Commissioner Shri Naresh Kumar Lath, SP Shri Rohit Malpani were also present on the occasion amongst others.
