Earlier, while in Mandi the Chief Minister speaking to media said that the pollution level at Delhi had increased beyond ones imagination and needs stringent measures to control it. He welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of demonetisation of ₹500 and ₹1000 currency notes. However the sudden decision of the Prime Minister was seen as a step taken in haste. It is a bold step taken. He said that the necessary arrangements and steps before demonetisation of currency notes would have been ensured to safeguard the interest of farmers, the small traders and shopkeepers, the wagers and those many who have hard-earned money in hand. The instant decision has come as a setback to those who have marriages going on, for  the farmers and marginal traders who were undergoing financial transaction and were in immediate need of money.

However, “I hail the bold decision and welcome the step taken to curb and stop the menace of black money so as to fight against corruption”, he said.

He also visited the Zonal Hospital Mandi to inquire about the well being of the injured of Mandi Bus Mishap in which around 17 people lost their precious lives. He wished speedy recovery of the injured. He said that definitely, the Government was working to improve the condition of the roads in the State, wherever there were black spots.
