HOSTEL FOR SPECIALLY  ABLED CHILDREN AT SUNDERNAGAR

SPECIALLY  ABLED CHILD TO PROVIDE EDUCATION TO BRING IN THE MAINSTREAM

 

     Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister inaugurated newly constructed building of Hostel for specially able children, especially visually and hearing impaired ones. Constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 Crore, the hostel building has the capacity for 150 girls. At present 118 girls from different parts of the state are residing in the hostel.

     Addressing the children, Chief Minister said that state Government had made special efforts for all-round development of specially abled children so that their capabilities could be utilized in the society.

     He reiterated the commitment of the State Government to provide education facilities to one and all specially abled children in the state to bring them in the mainstream of the development process.

     Chief Minister disclosed that an Institute for mentally retarded children will be started at Sundernagar, very soon, which will be first of its kind in the state, having housing facilities to mentally retarded children, as well as their parents.

     Shri Virbhadra Singh commended the efforts of the Institute for helping the specially abled girls in securing jobs in private sector. He asked corporate sector and others to provide opportunities to these children so that they became integral part the society. He said that Institute for specially abled children will be equipped with latest technology to impart education to these children.

     Raman Bansasl, District Welfare Officer welcomed the Chief Minister and gave details of the facilities in the hostel and other activities of the students.
