Rail connectivity is a critical issue for Himachal state: Anuraag Thakur

Anuraag thakur, BJP MP from Hamirpur in Himachal said, “Rail connectivity is a critical issue for my Himachal state. I have been pursuing it for years, following up regularly & I am delighted to share that a substantial budgetary outlay of rs 422cr has been made towards this in the Budget2018 by FM Arun Jaitley ji.” In a bid to connect all the districts of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency via railway, Member of Parliament Hamirpur, Anurag Thakur lauded the Central Government for proposing Rs. 422 crore as a part of the budgetary outlay of the Union Budget 2018-19.

Commenting on the development,  Anurag Thakur said, “Hamirpur Parliamentary will be happy to learn about the proposed budgetary outlay for railway lines as it will get us a step closer to growth, prosperity and connectivity. I would like to thank Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji, Finance minister Sh. Arun Jaitley ji and Railway minister Sh. Piyush Goyal ji for proposing the budgetary outlay for the railway lines. It is a progressive step and will help both, Hamirpur Parliamentary and the State boost its economic viability.”

“For any hilly terrain, rail and road form the backbone of the economy. Likewise, these railway lines are of extreme significance and their construction will certainly contribute towards the economic advancement of the State and aid in easing the pressure of road transport and get divided judiciously between railway and road,  ‘ he added.

He  detailed  the budgetary outlay proposed for the railway lines as

Nangal Dam – Talwara railway line: (83.74 km) Rs. 80 crore

Chandigarh – Baddi railway line: (33.23 km) Rs. 120 crore

Bhanupali – Bilaspur – Beri railway line: (63.1 km) Rs. 120 crore

Una – Hamirpur railway line: (50 km) Rs. 102 crore

 Anurag Thakur said that the initial survey of Una – Hamirpur railway line was completed in record time and within a span of 6 months the detailed survey and estimation of the rail link started.
