The 45th Foundation Day of HP Tourism Development Corporation was celebrated today across the State with enthusiasm and gaiety.

On this occasion, the Vice-Chairman Shri Harish Janartha, Managing Director Shri Dinesh Malhotra and Members of HPTDC Board of Directors planted trees at Shimla, Manali, Chintpurni, Barog, Dharamshala, Kullu and Narkanda. Apart from this, HPTDC Hotels served one complimentary dish to the staying guests on this day and greeted them with flowers.

The first guests checking-in at Hotel Holiday Home-Shimla, Hotel Kunzam- Manali and Hotel Dhauladhar-Dharamshala were provided with one day free stay for 1st September, 2016. The guests visiting HPTDC Marketing Offices were welcomed with sweets and HPTDC properties were decorated and illuminated to mark this special day. The get-togethers of employees took place at every complex to remember, honor and celebrate the Corporation’s achievements in past four decades and future plans were also discussed.

The Corporation came into existence on 1st September, 1972 and ever since, it has acted as a catalyst, trend setter and a prime mover for the promotion of domestic and foreign tourism in Himachal Pradesh.

Private players started tourism related activities at several places only after the HPTDC had started showing the way to the private entrepreneurs. The lesser known areas of Himachal Pradesh were opened up and publicized for tourists by HPTDC. Over the years, the Corporation has expanded and diversified its activities, broad based its strategy and has contributed significantly to the multi-faceted socio-economic development of the state.

HPTDC has established itself as a prominent brand name for providing safe and secure accommodation and travel to the visitors of this beautiful Hilly State of Himachal Pradesh. HPTDC is running 60 Hotels, 10 cafeterias, 2 club houses and a fleet of Volvo and Deluxe buses with total employee strength of 1507.

HPTDC is also considering a proposal that tourists paying green fees at Shimla and Manali and staying in HPTDC hotels will be allowed as discount on room tariff to the extent of green fee paid to avoid additional burden of fees on the guests.
