One year bonus to eligible category of HPTDC employees approved

  • 585 employees were benefitted during the last 45 months
  • Nod  given to fill five posts of Manager/Assistant Managers
  • Suggests construction of small commercial complex at Tatta-Pani

 

The State Government has always been considerate towards the welfare of the employees and approved one year bonus to eligible category working in Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) in a meeting of Board of Directors of HPTDC held here today.

The Board also approved regularisation of 56 daily waged and contingent paid workers, who have completed seven years of regular services on 31 March 2016 or on 30th September, 2016.

As many as 585 employees were benefitted during the last 45 months by way of promotion, regularisation etc, as was revealed in the meeting.

Nod was given to fill five posts of Manager/Assistant Managers through direct recruitment in HPTDC. It was also decided to come out with the result of 63 posts of utility workers in this month itself. To fill up 100 posts of Utility workers, 63 posts were advertised.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who presided over the meeting, said Hotel industry was a business Industry and should not be considered as a government department, Board or Corporation and should be more professional in its approach. New innovative ideas, new concepts were required to be evolved to make it more profitable. He said that management costs should be minimised and the recruitment was required to be done at the lower level. He also suggested constructing a small commercial complex at Tatta-Pani where around five to six hot water wash rooms have been constructed. He said that a small restaurant should also be constructed to facilitate the visitors who visit the place.

He directed to speed up the renovation of Hotel Shivalik at Parwanoo. Besides, the Chief Minster suggested to refurbish the Bushahr Regency at Rampur and also for expansion of dining hall of Shrikhand Hotel at Sarahan.

It was disclosed that the corporation earned an operational profit of Rs 804 lakhs till date from 1st April, 2016. The turnover of the corporation has increased by 0.49 percent.

Managing Director,Dinesh Malhotra stated that during last 45 months of the present Governments regime, a sum of Rs. 14 crore had been incurred on the 71 properties of HPTDC including hotels and restaurants.  

Chief Secretary Shri VC Pharka sought the Fuel Cost Ratio and the Food Cost Ratio for the next meeting in small units of HPTDC. He said that the water sports at Tattapani on reservoir water would soon start as the matter regarding this was at final stage of discussion.

Member BoD, Virendar Dharmani, also presented a memento as received by Himachal during ‘India International Travel Mart’ (IITM) at Mumbai for being adjudged the best in Eco-tourism.   

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Mansa Ram, Vice-Chairman HPTDC, Shri Harish Janartha, Secretary Tourism Smt. Anuradha, Members, BoD Shri Gopal Krishan Mahant, Shri Rupesh Kanwal, Shri Vijay Inder Karan, Shri Amarjeet Singh,  Director Tourism Shri Mohan Chauhan were also present on the occasion.
