Chandigarh, August 2—Keen on having his fingers on the pulse of the people and getting first-hand feedback, the Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, today ventured out early in the morning in Rohtak without his security cover and spent quality time interacting with the youth and taking their opinion and suggestions on good governance.
Known for his deep sense of belonging to the people, Manohar Lal left his place at 6 am without his security cover to interact with the youth to get first-hand information about how they feel about the various policies and programmes of the state government and how are these benefiting them. He also sought suggestions on rural development and other issues
Simplicity personified, he reached the Sports Complex in Rohtak unannounced and uninformed, met budding sportspersons practicing there, and inquired about the facilities being provided to them. Surprised and delighted to see the Chief Minister, the sportsperson lauded the sports policy of his government and appreciated the manner in which sports persons are being promoted in the state. “Mr Manohar Lal is the first Chief Minister who came to meet us without any security,” one of them quipped.
When the Chief Minister sought their feedback on the transparent system of recruitment, they hailed the transparent recruitment policy of the state government and said, “Now that the present government has ensured that only eligible youth would get government jobs, that too purely on merit basis, their faith has been restored, and many, who had given up hope, have again started preparing for entry into government service.”
Apparently satisfied with the outcome of his early morning effort, the Chief Minister said, “I am happy that people are getting the benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes right at their doorstep, and are feeling satisfied”.
