14 Himachal tourist destinations to be connected through AIR services by UDDAN

Famous tourist destinations in Solan , Shimla , Mandi , Kullu and Kangra Districts will be connected by Air services through UDDAN scheme launched by Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide air services to remote and backward areas in the country 

Pawan Hans airlines  has been awarded as selected airlines operator for plying air services between Chandigarh to Kasauli (Holiport),Shimla to Kasauli  Holiport)-- Chandigarh ,  Kasauli (Holiport) to Shimla  and Shimla to Kasauli (Holiport)  under second round of bidding under  Regional Connectivity Scheme ( UDDAN ) .

This was told by union minister of state for  civil avaiation Sh  Jayant Sinha to Shimla Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap  in a written  reply to question raised in Lok Sabha Union Minister of state for civial aviation Sh Jayant Sinha told Shimla Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap  that 11 number of RCS seats have  been reserved in each flights and airlines is permitted to undertake three flights each week on these air routes as per    2nd round of bidding  which was held under RCS-UDAN on 24 August, 2017 .

He said that   RCS route between Shimla to Mandi (Heliport), Dharamshala Mandi (Holiport)– Shimla---: Dharmshala to Mandi  (Heliport) ,Mandi   (Heliport)  to  Dharmshala  ,  Mandi   (Heliport)  to Shimla ,  Shimla   to  Mandi   (Heliport) Shimla-Mandi (Heliport)-Kullu Manali (heliport)-Kullu-Mandi (Heliport)-Shimla---:Kullu to Manali (Heliport), Kullu to Mandi (Heliport), Manali (Heliport) to Kullu, Mandi (Heliport) to Kullu, Mandi (Heliport) to Shimla, Shimla to Mandi (Heliport), Shimla-Rampur (Heliport)- Nathpajakhari (Heliport)- Rampur (Heliport)-Shimla---:  ,Nathpa Jhakri  (Heliport)   to Rampur  (Heliport)  ,  Rampur  (Heliport) to Nathpa Jhakri (Heliport),  Rampur  (Heliport) to Shimla and Shimla to  Rampur  (Heliport) has also been awarded to  Pawan Hans airlines which   has been awarded as selected airlines operator for plying air services on these routes.  

He said that Deccan Airlines has started flights from Kullu  to Delhi since March while Alliance air has started from New  Delhi to Shimla with seven flights a week having 9  RCS seats  under first round of  UDDAN scheme 

The Minister said that the Priority Area(s) have been defined in the Scheme for better connectivity for the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand, North Eastern Region of India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and

Lakshadweep Islands. Helicopter services was included in the scheme document for better connectivity of Priority Area(s). The Minister told MP Sh. Virender Kashyap that , considering the need of priority areas (Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Eastern Region, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshdweep Islands), following incentives were provided for helicopter services:;
i. Helicopter operations under the Scheme are allowed in Priority Areas;

ii. Viability Gap Funding (VGF) caps for helicopter operations enhanced.;
iii. Up to 10% of the estimated annual inflow in Regional Connectivity Fund (RCF) shall be earmarked for operations through helicopters.;
iv. All seats up to 10 passengers seats for helicopter shall be considered as RCS seats and accordingly VGF shall be provided.;
Sh. Jayant Sinha told the Member Parliament Sh. Virender Kashyap that , for Priority RCS Routes, the number of RCS Flights to be operated in a week with VGF shall be a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of fourteen (14) departures per week from the same RCS Airport such that the RCS Flights are operated on at least three (3) days of the week
