Bring Chail on air map of India: Varinder Kashyap

Shimla  Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap  today demanded  to  bring  famous tourist place Chail on air map of India by covering it under RCS  UDAN Scheme Round-II  so as to facilitate  movement of international and  domestic tourists in the region in order to boost tourism in shimla region. He said that average 10 lakh international and domestic tourist visit the famous hill station annually ,situated at an altitude of 2,250 m above mean sea level , it has highest cricket ground in the world 

Shimla  Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap  today met Union Minister of State for civil aviation Sh . Jayant Sinha  in New Delhi and told him that famous tourist place Chail is erstwhile   summer retreat of  the Maharaja of Patiala  and  renowned tourist place in north India . He said that the place has been attracting  large number of tourists in recent years due to  scenic and natural beauty but  lack of air connectivity is big obstacle  in  utilizing full potential  of this beautiful hill destinations  .

Shimla  Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap   told that Many new hotel establishments including prestigious five star hotels  are constructed  in Chail in recent years  which falls on Kuffri-Shimla and Kuffri-Narkanda and hotel association of this area has continuously been demanding to provide Air services to this area.He requested Union Minister   to sanction Heliport near Chail where the Govt. land is available under RCS UDAN  Scheme under Round-II.  

Shimla  Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap told  Union Minister of State for civil aviation Sh Sh. Jayant Sinha that   At present only one flight of Alliance Air is being operated   on regular basis from New Delhi to state capital Shimla and demanded to increase the  frequency of flights   due to heavy load of passengers. He demanded deployments of New   Air Crafts ATR- 42-600 on Delhi –Shimla route to meet the growing demand of the air  passengers .

 He told that  M/S Deccan Air  were to start operations to Shimla last January 2018 but  due to non availability of Air Crafts, the proposed operations had not been started till date. He requested the ministry intervention to direct  the Deccan Air Lines to fulfill their commitments immediately, otherwise alternative arrangements may be made  accordingly, so that the passengers/ people of Shimla  gets regular and frequent air services  round the year  .

Union Minister of State for civil aviation Sh Sh. Jayant Sinha assured  Shimla  Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap that ministry will  conduct technical feasibility survey to explore the possibilities to set up Heliport  at famous tourist place Chail .He also assured that other private airlines will be tapped to explore possibilities to enhance more air flights to state capital shimla and other tourist places in Himachal so as to   high end tourists  are provided   frequent  air services  during summer tourist season
