Lap Top computers to top 4000 students

Above 12500 crore being spent on education by present government

Himachal government has started a scheme under which each student studying in the government schools from class 1 to class 10 shall be given school uniform twice a year. Starting the distribution of school dress in Govt. high school Dhwala 50 kms from here Food Minister Ramesh Dhwala said,” 9,27,205 students, including 4,63,525 girls in the state shall be benefitted by this scheme of Rs 62 crores called ‘Atal School Uniform Scheme’.” Dhwala said on Thursday that rs 100/- is being given to each child as the cost of stitching. He said,” the total no of 1,62,582 students shall be benefited in Kangra District (Biggest in population in Himachal )under this scheme.”

Dhawala said ,”to encourage the students for higher studies ,the state government is providing Lap Top computers to top 4000 students in the board result of 10th class  in the state this year.”

The minister said that the state government has spent 9100 crore rupees on education in its present tenure so far. The state has a budgetary support of rs 3419 crore in the current financial year. School students  up to 10 th class  are taught free and given free text books in Himachal beside free mid day meal in the schools

The government is also providing the scholarships worth crores of rupees in so many categories to students studying in the government schools. The students in Himachal Pradesh travelling more than 5 km from their home to school daily are getting special aid from the state government. Every student covering a distance of 5 to 8 km daily is getting a scholarship of Rs.200 per month, while those travelling over 8 km get Rs.300 per month. 22,500 students are being benefitted.

The school study is being made high tech in a phased manner in the state

Himachal Pradesh has over 15,000 Primary, Middle, High and Higher Secondary government schools 

Himachal has 3 government universities, one central university and 11 private universities in the state.

Himachal Pradesh has one the highest literacy rates in the country.
