Dhamashala: HPCA raised fingers over the working of state Governor Dharamsala (Arvind Sharma ) Himachal Pradesh Cricket association (HPCA) has strongly reacted over the Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh’s clearance to the state government to prosecute former chief minister and Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal in the case pertaining to grant of land on lease at Dharamsala to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) headed by his son and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur. Talking to Media at Dhharamshala on Thursday the PRO of HPCA Sanjay Sharma said, “Governors action is biased and is a misuse of the constitutional powers. She seems to be in a hurry to please Congress lead state government by signing the Vigilance file within 24 hours.Where as she has ignored BJP’s Charge sheet against corruption of congressmen submitted to her in August last year.” Sanjay said that this action, taken in haste, is to defame former CM PK Dhumal and his Son Anuraag during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where Anuraag is defending his Hamirpur seat in Himachal. He said that this action of the government instead shall give a boost to Anuraag,s supporters to give him a big win. Sanjay said the Vigilance file (was prepared on the guidelines of a Retd IPS Officer, who was with Virbhadra in the centre too),is nothing else but a bundle of lies, prepared to please the political bosses. Sanjay said, “if Vigilance really want to inquire, it must grill than high rank sports officers, when the stadium land was transferred to HPCA .” Sanjay also raised eyebrows over the working of the state election commissioner, who ignored HPCA’s complaint over the three re-employed IAS officers, working in CM office. He said, “Their powers should be snatched till 16th may, as they are hindering the election process on governments directions.” He said that HPCA shall again send the complaint to State Election Commissioner with a copy to Chief Election Commissioner. Sanjay also demanded the vigilance inquiry of Rohroo Cricket Association RCA, where a scam of crores of rs was alleged. “RCA is headed by Virbhadra’s son and merged into his(son’s)NGO,” sanjay added . Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh on Wednesday granted sanction to the state government to prosecute former chief minister and Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal The HPCA is under investigation for wrongfully converting a registered society into a company. The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered a cheating and misappropriation case against the state cricket body on August 1, 2013, over alleged wrongdoings in land allotment and for constructing a residential complex for players near its stadium in Dharamsala. Last week, Vigilance sought permission from Home and Personnel to prosecute Dhumal, Anurag and 16 others named in the chargesheet. The case against the cricket body was registered under Sections Section 406, 420 and 120 (b) of the IPC. It is, however, not certain whether or not the state government will seek sanction to prosecute Anurag Thakur from Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar. “Since Anurag committed the offence in his capacity as HPCA president and not as MP, we are contemplating whether or not to seek prosecution from the Speaker,” a senior official said. Anurag is also a joint secretary in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
