Adviser distributed new Sweaters to spread warmth & happiness this winter

The initiative is aimed to make the world a better place to live inChandigarh, 6th January 2016 (kulbir singh kalsi):- In an attempt to bring smiles across the faces of children studying in socio-economically challenged areas, Yuvsatta-an NGO & Kings XI Punjab, launched a unique initiative, ‘1 India Friendship Campaign’  and distributed over 1000 new sweaters to the less privileged children as a ‘gift of warmth’ at  Government Senior Secondary School, Timber Market, Sector 26, Chandigarh today. 

 

The initiative aims at motivating students of public schools to contribute new sweaters of their own sizes for under privileged kids of similar ages studying in less privileged strata of society. This gesture is aimed to promote active citizenship and create an environment of caring and sharing, something that is necessary for harmonious growth in our society.  

 

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Vijay Dev, IAS, Advisor, Chandigarh Administration, said, “We would like to thank organizers for such a noble initiative. It is good to see children helping each other and this is the support and harmony we wish to inculcate amongst all kids right from grassroot level. This event definitely marks a great start to the new year.”

 

Sharing the intent behind the initiative, Pramod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta said, “We envision a world where all people are equally respected, fully protected and universally realized. Therefore, this event is indeed special to us and we would like to thank Kings XI Punjab for their support in making this winter season special for underprivileged kids.”

 

Commenting on the same, Fraser Castellino, CEO, Kings XI Punjab, said “It is a heartwarming to see the community come together, especially children being compassionate and thoughtful towards others. We would like to thank our partners for helping with this endeavour. Kings XI Punjab always strives to give back to the community and hopes to spread a little joy this holiday season. We hope this effort is well received and more people come forward and carry this on at a personal level as well.”
