Chandigarh, 1st January 2016 (kulbir singh kalsi):- CSIR- Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh today opened an“Audhyogik Sahyog Kendra” (ASK) a technology incubation and facilities Hub for Scientific Instruments Industry in Ambala and nearby areas.  The mission Statement of ASK is “LAB TO FAB” and the objectives are to provide R&D and certification assistance to scientific instrumentation industry, to facilitate incubation of technologies originating from industry, R&D and academic institutions of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh regions, and to impart skill based training programmes to the industrial workforce and students.

Apart from the ASK, the technology of “Diffraction Lloyd Mirror Interferometer” was   transferred to M/s Maffick Instruments, Ambala.  It is a new type of interferometer designed and developed by CSIR-CSIO. The uniqueness of the interferometer is that this is the only interferometer worldwide which can experimentally demonstrate various key features of interference and diffraction of light from one set-up. Diffraction and interference have a wide range of applications in the area of precision measurement, sensors, optical communication and more. This experimental set-up is designed to attract the young students for R&D in the area of Optics and Photonics on the completion of International Year of Light (IYL-2015).

On behalf of M/s Maffick Instruments, the Transfer of Technology (ToT) Agreement was signed by Shri Vipan Sarin, its CEO and by Dr Amod Kumar, Head, Business Initiatives & Project Planning (BIPP), CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh in presence of Prof. R K Sinha, Director, CSIR-CSIO.
