Arrival of south west monsoon in most parts of Himachal Pradesh

Manmohan Singh, Director  India Metorological Department in Himachal have stated that today on Dated 27th June 2018, South-West Monsoon has advanced into most parts of Himachal Pradesh i.e. in the districts of Kinnaur, L&S, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, Chamba, Shimla and parts of districts of Solan, Una and Bilaspur.

Singh said, “Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of Himachal Pradesh during next 48 hours.”

Rainfall / Thunderstorm had already activity started over Himachal Pradesh from 26.06.2018 afternoon and is very likely to continue over the state during next five days, the statement said.

During the last 24 hours, Rainfall occurred at most all the places over the state.

Significant Rainfall was recorded at Palampur - 55mm, Sujanpur Tira-52mm, Baijnath38mm, Shimla-36mm, Amb & Gaggal-32mm each, Bharwain-30mm, Dharamshala28mm,Dalhousie & Ghamroor-27mm each, Udaipur-20mm, Bharari & Jubberhatti18mm each, Manali & Una-17mm each,Rajgarh-16, Arki-15, Keylong-13, Sunni Bhajji & Dharampur-11 each.

Maximum & Minimum temperatures decreased by 2 to 3 0C during last 24 hrs

About  Weather Forecast next five days, singh said that Rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at MOST places over the state from 27th to 30th June 2018 and at MANY places over the state

on 1st July 2018.

“Weather Warnings for next five days is that During this period, Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall is also very likely to occur at Isolated places specially over the  Mid and Low hills/ Plains of the state from 27th to 30th June 2018, “ said Manmohan.

He further added that  due to continued occurrence of Rainfall activity over the state, there would be possibility of landslides and falling of trees over the sensitive areas. Water logging may occur in the fields of Kharif crops in the Lower Districts of the state.
