Open a CGHS centre in Dharamshala : ex servicemen

Retired Central government employees demanded one branch of Central Government Health Scheme CGHS at Dharamshala to help the retired persons of the forces and other departments and their families. A meeting of retired officers was held here today under the chairmanship of DIG (Retd)B K Thapa. Thapa said,” at present only one centre for this facility has been created in Shimla , which is tough in hill terrain for the senior citizens. Another centre is at Chandigarh and both of these cities are more than 250 kms from here and it is rather double in distance fron Chamba and many other areas of HP.” He added ,” by making Dharamshala a second centre of CGPS thousands of ex servicemen and their families shall get the benefits from this programme.”

Thapa said that the people residing in the districts of Una, Hamirpur,Mandi Kangra and Chamba shall be benefited, if a CGHS centre is created in Dharamshala (the second capital and the smart city of HP.

He said that it has been decided in the meeting that soon a delegation of ex servicemen shall meet J P Nadda ,the health minister of India and Jai Ram Thakur, the CM HP to convince them that a centre of CGHS be started at Dharamshala.

The meeting also decided that all those ex servicemen who have opted this scheme start a signature campaign to press this demand. In this scheme a retired person have to deposit 20 to 60 thousand in a go according to their pay grade and then can get free medical facility free for life long.
