Haryana has best mandis in country ; Khattar

Chandigarh, Dec 26:  Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the mandis of the State are one of the best in the country in terms of providing facilities and in the interest of the farmers, the State Government has improved the working of all 108 Mandis of the State.
          The Chief Minister was speaking during a welcoming program organized by Karnal Rice Millers and Dealers Association in New Grain Market today in Karnal.
          On this occasion, the Chief Minister heard the demands and grievances of wholesalers, Rice Millers and Dealers’ Associations and assured to  examine and resolve the same.
          The Chief Minister said that due to appropriate prices of crops being paid in Mandis of Haryana, the  farmers from the neighboring states of Haryana are also  interested in selling their produce in Haryana Mandis. The State Government has improved the working of all the 108 mandis in the state so that farmers should not face any problem while selling their produce.   Better facilities have been provided in Mandis for the convenience of the farmers such as giving online information about prices of crops and registration of crops at the gates of Mandis itself, the Chief Minister added.
          The Chief Minister said that Mandi of Karnal is the biggest of all the  mandis of Haryana, where farmers and wholesalers have been given special facilities. He said that two years ago, 100 cities of the country were categorized as Smart Cities, in which Karnal was also included. Now, the citizens of Karnal here have again formed small government (Municipal Corporation) which would facilitate in making it smart city further. He said that with the Mayor's elections being conducted directly, the powers of the Mayor have increased. For this, he congratulated the people of Karnal.
          The Chief Minister said that in the last four years the present Government has provided transparent administration. Now the  children belonging to poor families are also getting job on the basis of merit. He added.  He said that on the Birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Late Mr  Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25, Good Governance Day was celebrated throughout the country and on this day, 115 Antyodaya Saral Kendras were launched from Karnal. Now, the citizens would get all the necessary facilities of different departments under one roof which would eliminate corruption and the citizens would be able to get all the required services on time.
          On replying to the demand of wholesalers to minimize the property tax, the Chief Minister urged the wholesalers to deposit the tax as they are capable to do so. With more property tax being collected by the Corporation, it would enhance development. All the people should deposit tax on time,   he added.
          On this occasion, the Chief Minister also heard the grievances of rehri owners and others and directed the concerned officers of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board to resolve their problems on priority so that no one should have any problem.
          The Chief Minister also directed the concerned officers and workers to focus on cleanliness in Mandis. Clean environment and maintaining cleanliness is our priority, the Chief Minister added.
