Sacrifice made by the martyrs will not go in vain: CM Haryana Khattar

Chandigarh February 21: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today visited village Atali in district Faridabad and paid rich tributes to martyr Nayak Sandeep Kumar. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family members, Mr Manohar Lal assured them all support and cooperation of the State Government.

          Nayak Sandeep Kumar who got injured during an encounter with the terrorists was admitted in the Army base hospital where he succumbed to the injuries on February 19.

          Mr Manohar  Lal  said that by sacrificing his life for the security of motherland, Nayak Sandeep Kumar has made  not only his village and district proud  but also the State and the country. Sandeep showed indomitable courage while fighting with the terrorists during a search operation in Srinagar thus set an example for others. The whole country salute to his martyrdom, he added.

          Expressing condolences to Mr Nainpal Singh, father of martyr Sandeep Kumar and other family members, Mr Manohar Lal said an ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh has been deposited by the State Government into their bank accounts. Apart from this, one family member of the martyr would be provided a government job on compassionate ground soon. This is the right of martyr; he said adding that in addition to the assistance being given by the State Government, other facilities from Central Government would also be given to family members. He said that on the demand of villagers, the Government School of village Atali would be named after martyr Sandeep Kumar. Nayak Sandeep Kumar has sacrificed his life to serve the country and we all are proud on his martyrdom, he added.

          He said that the sacrifice made by Nayak Sandeep Kumar would not go in vain as it would always remain a source of inspiration for other youth. He said that the State Government is giving all possible assistance to the family members of the martyrs.  He said that Hari Singh of Rajgarh in district Rewari has also set an example by sacrificing his life in service to the country. People would always remain indebted to such martyrs, he further added.  

          Mr Manohar   Lal also met Mrs Kesar Devi mother of martyr Sandeep Kumar, wife Gita Devi, father Nainpal  Singh, sisters namely Urmila and Nirmla, younger brother Sonu , daughter Lvanya and son Rakshit and Rashit.
