Chandigarh, March 27: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan has urged the representatives of all political parties to fix time slots for recording and broadcasting on Akashvani Radio and Doordarshan and inform accordingly.

Mr Rajeev Ranjan  was presiding over the meeting with representatives of political parties here today.

He said that broadcasting on Akashvani and Doordarshan would be for ten minutes slot each, so that all political parties could get equal time available. He also informed that a spokesperson would be provided maximum 20 minutes.

It was also informed in the meeting that the date of telecasting on Doordarshan Hisar has been fixed from May 1 to May 3 and broadcasting on Akashvani radio from May 6  to May 8. Thus all political parties should determine their time slot as soon as possible so that further action could be taken, he added.

Mr Rajeev Ranjan  said that  on receiving the time slot as fixed by the political parties, a draw will be held  on April 9, 2019. He apprised the representatives of political parties that the process of filing the nomination papers would start in Haryana from April 16. During the process, on April 17, 2019, the nomination papers will not be filed due to national holiday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

Mr Ranjan said that  political parties can take online permission through Suvidha App launched by the Election Commission of India for election campaigning so as to  organise rallies, road shows and others. Any information or complaint regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct could be sent on cVIGIL App by uploading photos or video recording.

He appealed to the political parties to generate awareness among people to get their Voters Card made as soon as possible. As after April 12, 2019, no new voters’ card would be made and they would be deprived of  casting their franchise. For Voters Card, one could fill Form-6 online or could also visit  Booth Level Officer for getting their Voters Card made. He said that awareness should also be generated among people about voter helpline toll free number 1950.
