The Election Commission of India has given approval to the proposal of joining of PGT and TGT teachers

Chandigarh, April 1: The Election Commission of India has given approval to the proposal of joining of those PGT (Mathematics / Geography) and TGT (Home Science) teachers in Haryana, who were waiting for their joining while Model Code of Conduct is in force in Haryana, ahead of General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019.

            While giving information, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Dr. Inder Jeet said that the matter was placed before the screening committee headed by Chief Secretary, Haryana, Mr D.S. Dhesi explaining that Haryana Staff Selection Commission had issued appointment letters to the PGT teachers (Mathematics / Geography) on  March 6 and March 9, 2019. With the declaration of General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019, the Model Code of Conduct was enforced in Haryana on March 10 and some teachers were not able to join.  The matter was referred to the Election Commission of India for approval and today the Commission has given approval for the joining of these teachers.

                 Similarly, Haryana Staff Selection Commission had issued appointment letters to 26 eligible candidates for posts of TGT (Home Science) teachers along with station/school on March 9, 2019, but they were not able to join due to Model Code of Conduct being in force. Now these candidates can also join their respective stations / schools. He said that the Commission has also given approval to the school education department to adjust the workload and post vacancy due to joining of these newly appointed candidates.

            He said that some other matters of the School Education Department were also placed before the screening committee, which were also sent to the Election Commission for final decision. The Election Commission has also given approval to the proposal of the Department of School Education for extending the work period of computer Staff and Computer Lab Attendant, appointed by Service Agency as per outsourcing policy under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) scheme of Government  of India, from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 and also increasing the salary of computer staff and computer lab attendants from Rs 10,000  to 15, 000 and Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 per month respectively.
