Chandigarh, April 8: To prevent the academic loss of students due to lockdown implemented in Haryana due to COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided by the Haryana Government to teach the students of Class I to Class XII studying in Government schools across the State through various e-Learning platforms until the situation gets normal. Until schools re-open, students will have to adopt e-learning at home with the help of their parents and teachers through phone and WhatsApp.

Giving this information, Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal said that the new academic session generally starts from April 1 every year, but the same could not be done this year due to the nationwide lockdown. He said that all the schools had already been informed about the decision taken. He added that the department had also created a website to help the students in e-learning.

He informed that audio/video material telecast on Haryana EDUSAT Network has also been made available on this portal. He also informed that a general time table/schedule of studies have been prepared which will be available on the said website. Apart from this, teachers would teach the students daily from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM via phone/WhatsApp and thus the students would be able to continue their studies by staying at home with the help of their parents/elders, he added.

He informed that the said website will also have links to various other initiatives of the Education Department like ‘DIKSHA’ and ‘ChalkLit’ links. He said that the testing platform (Objective Type Question Bank) is also being added on the said website which will enable students to keep track of their daily learning/progress.
