The Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, has been allotted five crucial matches for the ICC One Day World Cup-2023, which will be held in India in October-November this year. This announcement by the ICC on Tuesday has created a buzz among the people of Dharamsala, who will witness eight of the 12 teams in action at the HPCA stadium in this picturesque hill resort. Although Team India will play only one match in Dharamsala, against New Zealand on 22 October, it is still a significant achievement for HPCA to get five World Cup matches.

According to the schedule announced today, Bangladesh and Afghanistan teams will face each other in Dharamshala on October 7, with the match starting at 10.30 AM. After this, Bangladesh will play a day-night match against England on 10 October at 2 pm. On 17 October, South Africa will play against the qualifier team 1 at 2 pm. The most important match will be played between India and New Zealand in Dharamshala on 22 October at 2 pm. The last match allotted for Dharamsala is another popular encounter between arch-rivals Australia and New Zealand, which will start at 10:30 am on 28th October.

HPCA Secretary Avneesh Parmar said that the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium was built for such a high level of competition, and getting five matches is a matter of pride for the entire state. The first match of this year’s ODI World Cup competition will be held on October 5, played between the teams of England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad. Team India will play its first match against Australia on 8 October in Chennai. The final match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 19 November, with all matches being played on 12 grounds in India.
