2074 people rescue in three days in the flood-like situation caused by the water released from the Pong Dam in Indora and Fatehpur: DC

The relief and rescue operations in the Indora and Fatehpur sub-divisions of Kangra district have been ongoing for the third consecutive day. District Magistrate Dr. Nipun Jindal reported that the Indian Army, Air Force, NDRF, and SDRF personnel successfully evacuated a total of 309 individuals from the flood-affected area today. Out of these, 228 people were airlifted to safer locations using Air Force helicopters, while 81 people were transported via boats.
In a remarkable display of bravery and dedication, the army and other rescue teams managed to save the lives of 2074 people over the course of three days in the flood-like situation caused by the water released from the Pong Dam in Indora and Fatehpur. Dr. Jindal revealed that during this period, 967 individuals were rescued by Air Force helicopters, 897 people were saved by boats, and 210 people were brought to safety through other means.
Among the rescued individuals currently residing in relief camps, there are several pregnant women and young children. Recognizing the importance of their well-being, a routine vaccination session was organized for them at the ongoing relief camp in Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan, located in Badhukhar, Fatehpur. During this session, the dedicated employees of the health department successfully vaccinated two pregnant women and five infants, ensuring their continued health and safety.
