This morning, six tourists were trapped in Baner Khad in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh after the water level suddenly rose while they were taking a bath. Thanks to the swift action of the local administration, all six tourists were successfully rescued.

According to reports, dozens of tourists and local residents went to bathe in Baner Khad at around 6:15 AM. The fire brigade office, located nearby, was alerted when the Fire Officer noticed the water level rising from his room. He immediately rushed to the site.

Most people managed to escape as the water level increased, but six individuals were caught in the middle of the Khad, leading to panic. Among the trapped were five tourists from Uttar Pradesh and one local youth. Upon receiving the distress call, the fire brigade, along with local residents, launched a rescue operation and safely extracted all six individuals from the ravine.

The water levels in the rivers and streams of Kangra district have been rising continuously due to overnight rains in the district.

The Himachal Pradesh government and district administration have been repeatedly warning both locals and tourists to avoid rivers, streams, and landslide-prone areas.
