Rs.21.23-CR released to construct remaining 5,559 houses; to be completed by December this year
Chandigarh, August 28:
Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Monday, informed that under the initiative of providing pucca houses to the needy families of the villages, so far 34,784 houses have been handed over to such families.
Asserting that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government has been making continuous efforts to transform the state into a ‘Rangla Punjab’, the Cabinet Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that a total of 40,326 houses have been sanctioned by the Rural Development and Panchayats department under the PMAY (G) scheme, of which 34,784 houses have been given to the needy eligible families so far. He said that an amount of Rs.21.23 crore has been released today to the eligible beneficiaries for the construction of remaining 5,559 houses, and these houses will be completed by December this year.
The Rural Development and Panchayats Minister mentioned that out of total Rs.21.23 crore disbursed to eligible beneficiaries for the construction of pucca houses, 1139 beneficiaries will be provided with the first installment of Rs.30,000 each, 1712 beneficiaries will receive the second installment of Rs.72,000 each and 3051 beneficiaries to be given the third installment of Rs.18,000 each.
