Advocate Dhami Re-elected as President of Shiromani Committee for the Fourth Consecutive Time

Amritsar (Rahul Soni) – Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has been re-elected as the President of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee during the annual general meeting held recently. In a direct contest, Dhami defeated his opponent, Bibi Jagir Kaur, by a margin of 74 votes. Dhami received 107 votes, while Bibi Jagir Kaur secured 33 votes. Notably, in the previous election in 2022, Dhami had also triumphed over Bibi Jagir Kaur, winning by 42 votes with a tally of 104 to her 42 votes.

The general meeting took place at Bhai Teja Singh Samundri Hall shortly after 12 PM, with a total of 185 members in attendance. Out of these, 170 members are elected, while 15 are nominated. It is important to note that 31 members have passed away, 4 have resigned, and 2 opted not to participate in the voting. Among the remaining 148 members, 142 exercised their voting rights, leading to Dhami’s victory. Besides Dhami, S. Raghujeet Singh Virk was elected as Senior Vice President, S. Baldev Singh Kalyan Kanishk as Senior Vice President, and S. Sher Singh as General Secretary. Additionally, 11 members were appointed to the executive committee.
