Haryana’s Power and Transport Minister, Anil Vij, remained at the forefront of governance and public engagement as he conducted a surprise inspection at the electricity complaint center in Rohtak, participated in a religious event emphasizing India’s rich Sanatan culture, and hailed the Union Budget as beneficial for the common man. His proactive approach towards addressing public grievances, promoting cultural values, and supporting economic reforms reflects his commitment to the welfare of Haryana’s citizens.
During his visit to Rohtak, Power Minister Anil Vij conducted an unannounced inspection at the electricity complaint center situated in the main office of the power corporation. His visit was aimed at reviewing the efficiency of complaint redressal mechanisms and ensuring that consumer grievances were resolved within the stipulated time frame. Interacting directly with consumers over the phone, he sought details about the actions taken on their complaints. Upon learning that a particular complaint had remained unresolved for over 24 hours, Vij immediately directed the Superintending Engineer (SE) to conduct an inquiry and take necessary action against the responsible staff.
Emphasizing prompt resolution of complaints, Vij instructed that any unresolved issue beyond four hours must be investigated, and clarifications must be sought from the concerned officials. Additionally, he ordered the immediate removal of electricity poles obstructing drains, sewers, and roads, ensuring that they are relocated to appropriate locations for public convenience. His directive aimed at preventing inconvenience to residents and ensuring a well-structured power infrastructure in the state.
Later in the day, Anil Vij attended a spiritual gathering at Param Siddha Peeth Shankat Mochan Dham near Mata Darwaza in Rohtak city. Addressing the devotees during the concluding ceremony of a three-day Hanuman Katha, he underscored India’s deep-rooted Sanatan culture, which defines the nation’s identity. He highlighted the importance of religious rituals in overcoming life’s obstacles and acknowledged the role of sages and saints in guiding society toward righteousness.
Speaking about the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, Vij described it as a symbol of joy, prosperity, and renewal. He emphasized that the festival marks the transition from harsh winters to a pleasant climate, symbolizing new beginnings and rejuvenation in both nature and human life. The blossoming flowers, chirping birds, and vibrant environment represent the happiness that the season brings. He further stated that the divine blessings of Goddess Saraswati on Basant Panchami enhance wisdom, knowledge, and creativity, making it a significant cultural celebration.
While interacting with journalists during the event, Transport Minister Anil Vij also expressed his views on the recently presented Union Budget, praising it for addressing the needs of the common man. He lauded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for an inclusive budget that prioritizes the welfare of ordinary citizens. Vij noted that tax reductions on essential household items would significantly lower daily expenses, providing relief to families. He further emphasized that the increase in the Kisan Credit Card limit from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh would empower farmers and enhance agricultural prosperity.
A major highlight of the budget, according to Vij, is the tax exemption for individuals earning up to ₹1 lakh per month, which benefits salaried professionals and those engaged in other occupations. This financial relief, he remarked, would strengthen the economic stability of the middle class.
Additionally, Vij elaborated on the government’s commitment to improving public transport. He revealed that the state’s transport fleet is being expanded to enhance travel convenience for citizens. In an effort to provide quality food to passengers at bus stations, the government is implementing a pilot project at selected locations in collaboration with the tourism department. The introduction of a tracking system to monitor bus locations will further streamline operations, ensuring efficiency and reliability in Haryana’s roadways network.
From taking swift action on electricity-related grievances to celebrating India’s cultural heritage and endorsing a budget aimed at economic progress, Anil Vij demonstrated a multifaceted approach to governance. His efforts reaffirm the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns, preserving traditions, and fostering economic growth in Haryana.
