Anti-Corruption Bureau Arrests Police Officer for Bribery in Haroli of Una

Superintendent of Police Balbir Singh HPPS of the SV&ACB, NR in Dharamshala , informed that in a significant development in Haroli of Una an arresthas been made of ASI Nirmal Patial for corruption charges. On April 21, 2024, ASI Patial, originally from Palampur in Kangra District and currently posted at Police Station Haroli in Una District, was caught red-handed demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 3,000. The bribe was solicited from Sh. Ankish Kumar, also known as Monu Rana, a resident of Haroli, for acting on a complaint lodged at the station.
The press note issued here by Superintendent of Police Balbir Singh said that Following the incident, the State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau of Una registered FIR No. 3/24 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amended) Act 2018 against Patial. The arrest underscores ongoing efforts to combat corruption within the ranks of Himachal Pradesh’s law enforcement.
