Bhupinder Singh Hooda Vows to Tackle Illegal Mining, Unemployment, and Restore Farmers’ Rights if Congress Wins Haryana
Former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda made bold promises during a campaign rally in Yamunanagar, pledging to curb illegal mining and revive the state’s natural resources under a Congress-led government. Addressing a large gathering in support of Congress candidate Raman Prakash Tyagi, Hooda said that rampant illegal mining, particularly in Yamunanagar, had devastated the environment and robbed people of legitimate job opportunities. He vowed that Congress would only permit legal mining, ensuring the protection of natural resources while creating employment.
Hooda, who has been critical of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, accused them of negligence and corruption. He alleged that government jobs had been “sold” over the past decade, diminishing public trust in the state’s recruitment process. If Congress returns to power, Hooda assured the people that two lakh government vacancies would be filled transparently and based on merit, emphasizing the party’s commitment to providing fair job opportunities.
Addressing the farming community, Hooda promised that the Congress government would guarantee a legal Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. He pointed out that during the Congress’ previous tenure, paddy procurement began on September 15 every year, in contrast to the delays and confusion under the BJP regime. Hooda criticized the current government for repeatedly pushing back procurement dates, leaving farmers in uncertainty.
In a broader vision for Haryana, Hooda pledged to tackle the state’s pressing issues of crime, drug addiction, unemployment, inflation, and what he described as “dictatorship” under the BJP government. He expressed confidence that Congress would restore Haryana’s position as the leading state in development, prosperity, and governance, promising a comprehensive transformation if voted into power.
The rally saw significant support from various social organizations and political figures, who joined forces with Tyagi’s campaign, further boosting the Congress party’s momentum as the October 5 Assembly elections approach.
