BJP Candidate Rajeev Bhardwaj Defends EVMs at Panna Pramukh Conference in Jaisinghpur

In a significant statement at the Panna Pramukh Conference held in Jaisinghpur on Monday, BJP candidate from Kangra and State Vice President Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj criticized the Indi alliance for spreading what he termed as “false propaganda” about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Addressing the attendees, Dr. Bhardwaj defended India’s electoral system, which he claimed is respected worldwide.
According to Dr. Bhardwaj, the opposition’s campaign against EVMs seeks to undermine the machines’ credibility, a move recently rebuffed by the Supreme Court. “The Supreme Court’s decision is a victory for democracy,” he stated, emphasizing that EVMs have made elections fairer, especially benefiting the poor and marginalized communities who were previously disenfranchised under the old ballot system.
Dr. Bhardwaj contrasted the current NDA government’s focus on empowerment and national development with the Congress party’s historical governance, which he accused of being self-serving.
Also present at the conference were BJP State General Secretary Dr. Sikandar Kumar and Parliamentary constituency in-charge Vipin Parmar. Dr. Kumar criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his proposed policies and criticizing the Congress party’s manifesto, which he claimed bore the influence of the Muslim League.
The BJP leaders’ statements at the conference underscore the party’s commitment to the current electoral technologies and their stance on opposition criticisms, positioning the NDA as a champion of inclusive and secure voting processes.
