BJP MP and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, on Sunday, made serious allegations against the Himachal Pradesh government, accusing it of taking loans and funneling them to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Speaking at a BJP membership drive in a village, Ranaut claimed that corruption is rampant under Congress rule, leading to the financial hollowing out of the state. She remarked that the state’s coffers have been drained due to this malpractice. Pointing to the lavish election spending by the Congress party, she questioned how such extensive resources are being utilized.

Taking a direct swipe at the Congress-led government under Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Kangana accused the administration of not only mismanaging disaster relief funds but also redirecting them to what she called the “Sonia relief fund” instead of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Criticizing the current state of affairs, she urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to reject the Congress government and elect leaders who can rebuild the state after what she termed as decades of decline caused by both natural disasters and Congress rule.

Additionally, Ranaut took a personal dig at Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, referencing his defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections and highlighting the poor state of roads and infrastructure in the region. She suggested that the electorate is fed up with the inefficiency and alleged corruption of Congress leaders, further fueling her appeal to remove the current government. With these strong statements, Kangana Ranaut reinforced the BJP’s anti-Congress narrative in the run-up to the next elections, calling for a complete overhaul of the state’s leadership to restore financial stability and integrity.
