In a dramatic political shift, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to return to power in Delhi after two decades, as per the latest exit polls for the 2025 Assembly Elections. The predictions indicate a significant defeat for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has ruled the national capital for the last 10 years. The Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi politics, appears to remain a marginal player.

According to multiple exit polls, the BJP is set to secure a comfortable majority in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, crossing the halfway mark of 36 seats. Among the most striking predictions, Peoples Pulse forecasts a landslide victory for the BJP with 51-60 seats, bringing AAP’s numbers down to a historic low of just 10-19 seats. Poll Diary and People’s Insight echo a similar sentiment, placing the BJP’s seat count in the range of 42-50 and 40-44, while AAP struggles to maintain its presence. Matrize offers a relatively close contest with 35-40 seats for the BJP and 32-37 for AAP, but still indicates a power shift.

An interesting anomaly is the exit poll conducted by WeePreside, which goes against the overall trend, predicting an AAP advantage with 46-52 seats while assigning the BJP only 18-23 seats. However, this contradicts the broader consensus among pollsters, where the BJP emerges as the dominant force in the 2025 elections.

When averaged across all polls, the BJP is projected to win approximately 41 seats, comfortably securing a majority, while AAP is expected to finish at 28 seats. Congress remains largely irrelevant in this election, managing just one seat in the combined estimates.

If these projections hold true, the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections will mark the end of AAP’s decade-long rule and a historic return of the BJP, which last governed the national capital in 1998 under Chief Minister Sushma Swaraj. The exit polls suggest that voter sentiment has shifted significantly, with key issues such as governance, law and order, and infrastructure likely playing a crucial role in the outcome.
