Bollywood Star Govinda Makes Political Comeback, Joins Shiv Sena Ahead of Elections

After a prolonged hiatus, Bollywood actor Govinda has reentered the political arena by aligning himself with the Shiv Sena’s Shinde faction. Following a meeting with CM Eknath Shinde, Govinda has formally stepped into active politics once again, sparking speculation of his participation in the upcoming elections. Speculations are rife that Govinda may contest elections from North-West Mumbai constituency, formerly represented by Shiv Sena’s Gajanan Kirtikar.

Govinda, who made his political debut in 2004 under the Congress ticket, won a seat in the Parliament from North-West Mumbai two decades ago, defeating BJP’s Ram Naik, who later became the Governor of Uttar Pradesh. However, citing personal reasons, Govinda withdrew from politics shortly after. The current representative of the North-West Mumbai Lok Sabha seat, Gajanan Kirtikar of Shiv Sena, may not be offered a re-nomination due to his advancing age, potentially paving the way for Govinda’s electoral comeback.
