Budget 2025-26: A New Era for India’s Development, Says CM Nayab Singh Saini

Major Boost for Farmers, MSMEs, Women Entrepreneurs, and Education and Healthcare Sectors

Chandigarh, 01 February: Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for the Union Budget 2025-26, highlighting its potential to accelerate the nation’s development and play a pivotal role in making Haryana self-reliant. The Chief Minister emphasized that the budget is designed to benefit all sections of society, offering significant advantages to Haryana.

Key Announcements for Farmers and Agriculture

CM Saini stated that the budget includes several crucial provisions for the agricultural sector. The loan limit under the Kisan Credit Card has been increased from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. Furthermore, the budget focuses on 100 districts with low agricultural productivity under the “Dhan Dhanaya Krishi Yojana.” As Haryana is an agriculture-driven state, these provisions will provide substantial benefits to its farmers. The budget aims to improve the living standards of farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector, marking a significant step forward.

Support for MSMEs and Small Industries

In addition to the agricultural sector, the budget includes provisions for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The loan guarantee cover for MSMEs has been increased from Rs. 5 crore to Rs. 10 crore, providing more support for small industries. The budget also includes a six-year focus on boosting the production of pulses like Masoor and Toor, benefiting local farmers. Additionally, a new special credit card scheme for small industries will be rolled out, with 10 lakh cards issued in the first year.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Startups

The budget makes significant strides in empowering women and promoting entrepreneurship. A new scheme for 5 lakh women from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will provide them with a term loan of Rs. 2 crore each. Furthermore, the loan limit for startups has been increased from Rs. 10 crore to Rs. 20 crore, offering greater financial support to emerging businesses. These steps will enable women to become more self-reliant and provide a boost to new startups, fostering entrepreneurship across the country.

Revolutionizing Education and Healthcare Sectors

In a bid to transform education and healthcare, the budget outlines ambitious plans for the next five years. A total of 75,000 new seats will be added in medical education, and the IIT Patna expansion will cater to 1.35 lakh students across 23 IITs. Additionally, a special provision of Rs. 500 crore has been allocated for Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. These provisions mark the beginning of a new era for education and healthcare, offering better opportunities for youth across India.

CM Saini assured that the Haryana government would ensure the effective implementation of these schemes, aiming to maximize the benefits for the state’s residents.
