Chandigarh Police Makes Arrests for Liquor Consumption, Gambling, Theft, and Hit and Run

Four Arrested for Consuming Liquor at Public Places in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested four people on September 27, 2023, for consuming liquor at public places and creating nuisance. The accused were identified as Joginder (31), Ishan Jora (30), Raj Kumar (41), and Karan (30).

Joginder was arrested near Rally Ground Sector-25, Ishan Jora was arrested near SCO No. 1062, Sector-22/B, Raj Kumar was arrested near Multi Level Parking Sector-17, and Karan was arrested from parking Sec-21.

All four accused were booked under Section 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 510 IPC and later bailed out. Investigation of the cases is in progress.

Two Arrested for Gambling in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested two people on September 27, 2023, for gambling. The accused were identified as Rajesh Singh (34) and Surinder Singh (47).

Rajesh Singh was arrested from back side bus stand Sector-17 and Surinder Singh was arrested near Mandi Ground Phase-1, Ram Darbar.

Cash Rs. 1940/- was recovered from Rajesh Singh and cash Rs. 3000/- was recovered from Surinder Singh.

Both accused were booked under Section 13A-3-67 Gambling Act and later bailed out. Investigation of the cases is in progress.

One Arrested for Theft of Motorcycle in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested one person on September 27, 2023, for the theft of a motorcycle. The accused was identified as Soni Kumar (25).

Soni Kumar was arrested for stealing a Bullet motorcycle No. CH-01CN-3587 from near Trilok’s house in Dhanas.

A case FIR No. 97 U/S 379 IPC added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two Arrested for Theft of Vegetable Oil in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested one person on September 27, 2023, for the theft of vegetable oil. The accused was identified as Himanshu (19).

Himanshu was arrested for stealing 10 tins of vegetable oil from a fad outside of SCF No. 154 Grain Mkt. Sector-26, Chandigarh.

A case FIR No. 121 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Three Arrested for Theft of Copper Wire in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested three people on September 27, 2023, for the theft of copper wire. The accused were identified as Himanshu (19), Vikrant Singh (25), and other persons.

Himanshu, Vikrant Singh, and other persons were arrested for stealing copper wire from water works Sector-32, Chandigarh.

A case FIR No. 150 U/S 379, 411, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One Arrested for Hitting and Running in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Police arrested one person on September 27, 2023, for hitting and running. The accused was identified as Shyam Singh.

Shyam Singh was arrested for hitting a scooter No. CH-01BX-5187 near Tribune Chowk on April 11, 2023, and speeding away.
