Chief Minister Naib Singh Announces Major Benefits for Haryana’s OBC Community
Chief Minister Naib Singh announced significant benefits for the OBC community in Haryana, aiming to enhance job opportunities and social welfare. He declared an increase in the annual income limit for the creamy layer from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, aligning with the guidelines of the Haryana State Backward Class Commission. This move will exclude salary and agricultural income from the calculation, benefiting lakhs of OBC individuals in state government jobs. Additionally, the reservation for backward classes in Group-A and Group-B posts will be raised from 15 percent to 27 percent, mirroring the Central Government’s policy. A special recruitment drive will address the backlog of backward class-A and B vacancies on a priority basis. Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced 27 percent reservation for OBC youth in the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation to facilitate easier access to employment. Speaking at the OBC Morcha Sarva Samaj Harmony Conference in Gurugram, Naib Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to protecting OBC interests and ensuring their rightful benefits through various schemes. He emphasized the government’s ten-year record of empowering the OBC community, aligning with Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas.” This includes efforts in education, where scholarships ranging from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 are provided, and skill development under the Bhagwan Vishwakarma Yojana, which allocates Rs 13,000 crore for training in 18 trades. Additionally, OBC trainees receive Rs 500 per day during training and a Rs 15,000 kit upon course completion. The Chief Minister also mentioned the central government’s focus on developing backward areas, such as the inclusion of Nuh district in the aspirational scheme. He expressed satisfaction that the current government has delivered unprecedented benefits to the OBC community compared to previous administrations. Deputy Speaker of Haryana Assembly Ranbir Gangwa, State President of OBC Morcha Karnadev Kamboj, Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra, and other dignitaries were present at the event, which underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the OBC community and ensuring equitable growth and development across Haryana.
