Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Attends the Grand Finale of International Kullu Dussehra 2024
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the grand finale of the International Kullu Dussehra 2024, gracing the last cultural night as the chief guest. In his address, he extended warm greetings to all the attendees, appreciating the festival’s vibrant spirit and international recognition. The Chief Minister highlighted that since the previous year, the Kullu Dussehra has significantly enhanced its global appeal, earning the status of a truly international event. This year’s event included an Ambassador Meet, showcasing the efforts of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur and MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur in promoting the fair’s global image.
The final night was marked by extraordinary performances, where renowned playback singer Neeraj Shridhar captivated the audience with his melodious songs. Artists from Uzbekistan added an international touch with their breathtaking performances, leaving the crowd mesmerized. Additionally, a cultural fusion performance combining traditional and contemporary elements drew immense appreciation from the public, further elevating the cultural significance of the night.
Earlier in the evening, Chief Minister Sukhu formally inaugurated the iconic Kullu folk dance ‘Lalri’ by performing the traditional prayers. Leading the vibrant dance, he emphasized the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Speaking about the dance, the Chief Minister said, “Himachal Pradesh is the land of gods and goddesses, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve the divine culture that defines our state. The ‘Lalri’ dance embodies this culture, with entire families coming together to celebrate through dance.”
During the event, the Chief Minister also visited the developmental exhibitions set up at Dhalpur Ground, where various initiatives and projects aimed at the region’s progress were showcased.
The final cultural night was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur, District Congress President Ses Ram Azad, Congress leaders Buddhi Singh Thakur and Vijay Pal Singh, Vice Chairman of HPSIDC Vishal Chambial, APMC Mandi Chairman Sanjeev Guleria, Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation Coordinator Atul Kadohta, Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish, and other distinguished guests.
