In a pivotal “Monday Meeting” convened by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, a comprehensive review of ongoing development projects and flagship initiatives of the state government took center stage. The Chief Minister chaired the meeting, attended by Administrative Secretaries, to ensure efficient progress and timely completion of various initiatives aimed at propelling Himachal Pradesh towards sustained growth.
Underlining the urgency of delivering tangible benefits to the people, the Chief Minister urged all Administrative Secretaries to expedite pending projects. This concerted effort, he emphasized, would ensure that the populace reaps the rewards of government endeavors without delay.
Recognizing the transformational potential of digitization, Chief Minister Sukhu stressed the adoption of digital workflows. He encouraged officials to embrace the e-files system to streamline tasks and enhance administrative efficiency. He acknowledged the recent natural disasters in the state and highlighted the government’s commitment to restructure loans for those impacted, thus offering prompt relief to affected families. He underscored the need for a comprehensive action plan to address these challenges.
One of the notable highlights of the meeting was the review of the MukhyaMantri Sukh-Aashray Yojna. The Chief Minister revealed that a remarkable 3671 orphaned children had been enrolled in the state, all of whom would benefit from the ambit of this scheme.
Seeking consistency and transparency, Chief Minister Sukhu called for uniform rates across Rest Houses of various departments. He further emphasized that online booking systems would be implemented to enhance transparency and accessibility. The Chief Minister advocated for an enhanced system to promote successful plantation and growth of trees, thereby augmenting the state’s forest cover. Environmental conservation emerged as a priority, with the Forest Department being urged to proactively engage in these efforts.
Addressing vital infrastructure sectors, Chief Minister Sukhu reiterated the government’s commitment to improving road networks and ensuring clean drinking water for the citizens. He called for the integration of UV-ray-based filtration systems in drinking water projects to guarantee water quality. The health sector also saw advancements, as the Chief Minister announced the phased introduction of robotic surgery in all state medical colleges, highlighting the importance of a time-bound implementation.
With an eye on bolstering the tourism sector, the Chief Minister directed the swift completion of proposed tourism projects. Additionally, he suggested exploring innovative avenues to support local farmers, including the establishment of plants for vinegar and wine production from excess apples, as well as the manufacturing of tomato puree, papaya powder, and potato paste.
As the meeting concluded, the Chief Minister reviewed upcoming projects, including the prospective Medical Device Park and Bulk Drug Park. An update on the implementation of directives from the previous Monday meeting was also presented.
In attendance were Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Revenue Onkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Bharat Khera, and other Administrative Secretaries.
