“Close Call: Mohali’s Mataur SHO Narrowly Escapes Gunfire Attack”
In a dramatic incident, Mohali’s Mataur SHO had a narrow escape when unidentified assailants opened fire on him while he was traveling in his Scorpio near Dhianpura village on the Kurali-Morinda road in Ropar district on Thursday night.
Fortunately, SHO Gabbar Singh escaped unscathed as he was traveling in a bulletproof car, a precautionary measure taken due to threats to his life.
While SHO Gabbar Singh could not be reached for immediate comments, Ropar SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana confirmed the incident, stating that unidentified miscreants fired at the Mataur SHO around 11 pm on Thursday. One bullet struck the windowpane of his car, but he remained unharmed.
Following the attack, the officer promptly alerted the police, and a case was registered at the Singh Bhagwantpura police station. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway, as stated by the SSP.
Sources reveal that Gabbar Singh has been facing threats from criminals, including gangsters, leading to the provision of a bulletproof vehicle by the Punjab police for his safety. Previously, a case was registered at the Mataur police station after he received threats.
