CM Bhagwant Mann Rallies in Abohar, Targets Opposition and Central Government
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed a vibrant rally in Abohar ahead of the crucial elections on June 1. Expressing gratitude to the people of Abohar for their unwavering support and love, Mann promised that their commitment would be met with dedicated governance. “The people of Abohar have shown immense love and have always been at the forefront of support. For this, I am deeply thankful,” he stated.
Mann emphasized the importance of having a strong representation in Parliament, assuring that with 13 MPs, no one would dare withhold Punjab’s rightful funds. “If we have 13 hands in Parliament, no one will have the courage to stop Punjab’s money,” he asserted.
Taking a dig at opposition leader Sukhbir Badal, Mann criticized his silence in Parliament during his tenure. “When Sukhbir Badal was in Parliament, he never spoke up for Punjab,” Mann pointed out. Highlighting the current representation, he mentioned, “We already have 7 members in the Rajya Sabha, and with 13 more in Parliament, the total will be 20. Watch how Punjab progresses then.”
Mann assured the residents that he would not let any poor household go hungry and announced plans to boost food processing in the region. He proudly shared the state’s initiative to include kinnow, a local citrus fruit, in the mid-day meal scheme instead of importing bananas from Kerala. “We have started giving kinnow in mid-day meals instead of bananas, ensuring our local produce is utilized. This way, our kinnow won’t go to waste,” he explained. He promised that children would receive seasonal fruits grown locally, promoting both health and local agriculture.
The Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, who he claimed threatened to topple his government. “Modi and Shah came here, threatening to dissolve my government by June 4. But Punjabis gave us 92 seats with their love; how will they break this government?” he challenged.
Mann mocked the central government’s assumption that his administration could be bought. “They might think they can buy us with money,” he remarked, reinforcing his commitment to integrity and service to the people of Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann’s rally in Abohar was marked by his gratitude towards the people, criticism of opposition leaders, and a strong stance against the central government’s alleged threats. His promises to boost local agriculture and ensure food security highlighted his focus on Punjab’s progress and self-sufficiency.
