CM Mann Approves 13,400 km of Link Roads with AI-Driven Construction at Rs 2,436.49 Crore
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has greenlit the construction of 13,400 kilometres of link roads across the state, with a total project cost of Rs 2,436.49 crore. This major initiative aims to enhance rural connectivity, improve economic growth, and facilitate the smooth transportation of goods and services to the people residing in rural areas.
In a high-level meeting held in Chandigarh, CM Mann highlighted that many of these link roads have not been attended to for over six years, which affects both the livelihood of rural residents and the state’s economic infrastructure. The roads will be built in phases based on need and priority, with categories such as “top priority” and “needy” roads to ensure that the most essential routes are addressed first.
The Chief Minister emphasized the judicious use of every penny allocated for this massive infrastructure upgrade. Both the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Punjab Mandi Board have been directed to ensure high-quality work in the construction and upgrading of these roads.
In a forward-thinking move, Mann announced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will be utilized for the efficient construction of these roads. The AI-driven approach is expected to optimize resource use, enhance the quality of the construction, and reduce costs. This innovative technique aims to revolutionize road construction in Punjab, ensuring long-lasting infrastructure while saving public funds.
This bold project reflects the state government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure, which is crucial for boosting economic growth and enhancing the daily lives of people in Punjab’s villages.
