BJP-led government has transformed agriculture, empowered women, and created employment for youth, says CM Saini.
Chandigarh, December 18 – Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has called upon the Punjab government to engage directly with farmers to resolve their grievances instead of allowing the situation to deteriorate. Addressing the media in Bhiwani, he criticized the Congress and other political parties for allegedly exploiting farmers’ concerns for political gain while failing to implement Minimum Support Price (MSP) policies effectively in their respective states.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led governments, both at the Center and in Haryana, have undertaken a series of transformative measures in the last decade to improve the lives of farmers, women, youth, and underprivileged communities.
“Punjab Government Must Act Responsibly”
CM Saini accused the Punjab government of neglecting its farmers, urging them to initiate meaningful dialogues to address their challenges. “Farmers’ issues must be resolved by the Punjab government instead of allowing them to linger. Political parties, especially Congress, should focus on providing real benefits to farmers in their states rather than engaging in mere rhetoric,” he stated.
He further lambasted Congress for its failure during its prolonged rule at the Center and in various states. “If Congress had genuinely worked for the people, they wouldn’t find themselves alienated today. The public has seen through their hollow promises,” CM Saini remarked, adding that Congress leaders often blame electronic voting machines (EVMs) for their electoral defeats rather than introspecting on their own failures.
“Decade of Transformative Governance: Farmers, Women, and Youth Benefit”
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government, CM Saini detailed numerous welfare schemes and initiatives implemented over the past decade:
- For Farmers: Haryana has become the first state in the country to procure crops on MSP, ensuring financial stability for farmers. Schemes like Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana have directly benefited the agricultural community.
- For Youth: Skill development initiatives and transparent recruitment policies have provided employment opportunities to thousands of deserving candidates without corruption or favoritism.
- For Women: Comprehensive programs have been launched to empower women, enabling them to become self-reliant.
“Our policies have ensured equitable growth. Today, Haryana stands as a model state in terms of agricultural support, women empowerment, and youth development,” he asserted.
“Combating Drug Menace and Encouraging Sports Participation”
Discussing the ongoing battle against drug abuse, CM Saini said that a robust campaign is underway in Haryana to eradicate this social evil. “Special de-addiction centers have been established to rehabilitate individuals and reintegrate them into mainstream society,” he explained.
Additionally, the government has focused on promoting sports and physical activities through an inclusive sports policy. “Youth are being encouraged to participate in sports, and we are providing them with skill training to foster their holistic development. Sports not only build physical strength but also keep them away from harmful habits like drug abuse,” he added.
“An Appeal to Stay United Against Drug Abuse”
CM Saini appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and inspire others to do the same. “Parents must spend quality time with their children and guide them to the right path. Society at large has a responsibility to create awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and provide support to those in need,” he said.
In closing, CM Saini reiterated his commitment to creating a better future for Haryana’s citizens and urged other states, particularly Punjab, to adopt similar measures for the welfare of their people.
This press interaction was attended by prominent officials, including Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma, Home Secretary Sumita Mishra, and senior officers from the Health Department.
