In a bid to court women voters and farmers ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally, highlighting the policies implemented by the Modi Government over the past decade. Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Saini accused the party of neglecting women and failing to provide relief to farmers during its tenure at both the Centre and in the state.

During his speech, Saini claimed that the Congress had only provided Rs 1,100 crore in compensation for crop losses to farmers over a decade, whereas the BJP government had disbursed Rs 12,000 crore in the past nine-and-a-half years. He emphasized that under previous Congress regimes, the prices of essential agricultural inputs like urea and DAP would escalate annually, burdening farmers, but the Modi government intervened to stabilize prices, ensuring affordability for farmers.

Asserting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the welfare of marginalized sections, Saini criticized the Congress for lacking respect for women and using derogatory language towards them. He underscored PM Modi’s efforts in empowering women, farmers, youth, and other segments of society, contrasting it with the Congress’ alleged indifference.

Saini’s rally in Rohtak parliamentary constituency, considered a stronghold of former CM Bhupinder Hooda, marked his first public appearance as CM in the region. Initiating a series of assembly-wise rallies in the constituency, he rallied support for BJP nominee Arvind Sharma.

Highlighting PM Modi’s initiatives, Saini mentioned the distribution of Rs 3 lakh crore to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and efforts to compensate farmers adequately for crop losses.

The ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally served as a platform for Saini to showcase the BJP’s commitment to addressing the concerns of women and farmers, while lambasting the Congress for its alleged failures. With the Lok Sabha polls on the horizon, Saini’s rhetoric aimed to resonate with voters, emphasizing the BJP’s track record of governance and contrasting it with the perceived shortcomings of the Congress.
