CM Sukhu Announces Major Development Projects for Shahpur on International Women’s Day

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during a state-level program at Chambi Ground in Shahpur Assembly Constituency, Kangra District, marked International Women’s Day with a series of significant development announcements aimed at transforming the region’s infrastructure and enhancing public welfare. Addressing a large gathering, CM Sukhu declared the opening of a Sub Judge Court and a DSP office in Shahpur, indicating the government’s commitment to strengthening administrative and judicial accessibility for the local population.

In a move to uplift educational standards, the Chief Minister announced the conversion of Government Senior Secondary School Rait into a Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School. This initiative is expected to bridge educational disparities and provide modern learning facilities for students in rural areas. Further, CM Sukhu allocated Rs. 25 lakh for constructing the Guru Ravidas Bhawan in Shahpur, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive development and respect for diverse communities.

Acknowledging the region’s agricultural and healthcare needs, the Chief Minister announced the opening of a Jal Shakti Vibhag section in Darini and the installation of a 2000-litre capacity bulk milk cooler in Rirkmaar. He also revealed plans to upgrade the Primary Health Centre in Rirkmaar to a Community Health Centre and establish an oxygen plant, ultrasound, and dialysis facilities at Civil Hospital Shahpur. These measures are part of the state government’s broader agenda to enhance rural healthcare infrastructure.
