CM Sukhu Visits Himachal Pavilion at Pragati Maidan, Lauds Industries Department’s Showcase Efforts

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Himachal Pradesh Pavilion at the 43rd International Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The trade fair, which commenced on 14th November and concludes on 27th November, provided a platform for Himachal Pradesh to showcase its diverse handicrafts, handlooms, and agricultural products.
The Chief Minister explored all 16 stalls set up by the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation, Self-Help Groups, Him-Ira, and HPMC. These stalls featured an array of products such as horticultural and agricultural produce, Himachali honey, woolens, shawls, and exquisite handicrafts, reflecting the state’s rich cultural heritage and economic potential.
Acknowledging the diligent efforts of the Industries Department, the Chief Minister appreciated the pavilion’s ability to present the unique craftsmanship of Himachal Pradesh to a national audience. Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan informed the Chief Minister that the pavilion attracted over two lakh visitors and recorded sales of approximately ₹40 lakh during the fair.
Director of Industries Yunus Khan welcomed the Chief Minister and provided detailed insights into the exhibits and the activities organized during the event. The visit also saw the presence of Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty, and other senior state government officials, underscoring the importance of this event for promoting Himachal’s economy and culture.
