CM Sukhvinder Sukhu Orders Resolution of Pending Revenue Corrections by 31st October

Shimla, 15 Oct 2024: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed a special campaign to expedite the settlement of all pending revenue correction cases by 31st October 2024. During a review meeting with the Revenue Department, the CM emphasized the need for swift resolution through *Revenue Lok Adalats* to provide relief to citizens who frequently visit government offices for their pending cases.

CM Sukhu stressed the government’s commitment to delivering services at people’s doorsteps and urged revenue officers to focus on clearing backlogs. He instructed all Divisional and Deputy Commissioners to ensure the pending revenue corrections are settled by the end of October.

Additionally, he directed Deputy Commissioners to appoint nodal officers in their respective districts to monitor pending cases and submit progress reports to the government. To support this effort, powers were granted to fill vacant positions, including Naib Tehsildars, with the necessary budget provisions.

The Chief Minister will review the progress in November.

The meeting also reviewed the ongoing relief efforts for last year’s disaster victims, with the government having already disbursed Rs 4500 crore as part of a special relief package.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Secretary to the CM Rakesh Kanwar, and other senior officials were present, while Deputy Commissioners participated virtually.
