Communal Clashes Erupt in Haryana’s Mewat Region, Leaving Two Home Guards Dead and Several Injured

In a tragic turn of events on Monday, violent clashes erupted between two groups in Haryana’s Mewat region, resulting in the death of two home guards and injuries to 10 policemen, according to the local authorities.

The incident reportedly occurred when a group of individuals began pelting stones at a rally organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers near Nand village in Nuh district. Tensions escalated over reports of Monu Manesar, a prime accused in the Bhiwani deaths case and the death of Nasir and Junaid earlier this year, making an appearance in Mewat.

Monu Manesar’s name had previously been mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR) related to the charred remains of two men found in a Bolero in Haryana’s Bhiwani district. In an attempt to gather support, Monu Manesar had called upon people to join a shobha yatra organized by Bajrang Dal members. However, his planned visit was met with strong opposition and warnings of protests from the local community.

Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij, confirmed the incident of stone-throwing and clarified that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had obtained permission from the police to conduct the yatra in Mewat. However, tensions escalated as the yatra reached Nand village, leading to clashes with members of the opposing community.

In response to the situation, additional police teams from neighboring districts have been deployed to Mewat. Air-dropping of police personnel has been implemented in areas where roads have been blocked to swiftly contain the unrest.

Amidst the violence and escalating situation, Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij, issued an appeal to the people to maintain peace and order in the state.

As a precautionary measure, internet services in Haryana’s Nuh district have been temporarily suspended until August 2, aiming to prevent the spread of misinformation and further unrest.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to restore calm in the region while urging the public to refrain from engaging in any acts that may fuel tension or violence.
