Congress Government Faces Public Opinion Crisis, Loses in 61 Out of 68 Assembly Constituencies: Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj

In a sharp critique of the current Congress lead government  in Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, Lok Sabha MP from Kangra and BJP state vice-president, stated that the Congress government has completely lost public support. According to Dr. Bhardwaj, the recent Lok Sabha elections revealed this sentiment, with Congress losing in 61 out of the 68 assembly constituencies across the state.

Dr. Bhardwaj highlighted an atmosphere of suffocation, internal conflict, and favoritism within the Congress party, indicating that all is not well within its ranks. He pointed to the appointments of RS Bali, MLA, as Vice Chairman of the Himachal Tourism Development Board with cabinet rank, and the recent appointment of  KS Khachi as Vice Chairman of the Forest Development Corporation with cabinet rank, as examples of the preferential treatment given to close associates within the party.

He further noted that former Union Minister Anand Sharma had raised doubts about the feasibility of Congress’s promise to provide Rs 1500 per month to women in Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Bhardwaj mentioned that Sharma, in an informal conversation with journalists in Solan, expressed uncertainty about the source of funding for this promise, admitting that he had not been involved in any discussions regarding the financial logistics.

“This confusion and lack of coordination within the Congress party is a direct example of its disarray,” Dr. Bhardwaj remarked. “In Himachal, what we are witnessing is a government run by friends, for friends—the Congress government.”
